CBR Test Machine, Automatic
CBR Test Machine is used to determine the strength of subgrade soils and base course materials by measuring the pressure required to penetrate a soil sample with a plunger of standard size. This penetration resistance is compared to the penetration resistance of a standard crushed stone material. The ratio of the two penetration resistances is the California Bearing Ratio, which is used to assess the immediate bearing index of the soil for pavement design, road construction, and foundation engineering.
New Touch Screen controller with rigid and compact design. By using a server Drive System to achieve more reliable and highly accurate testing results.
Features of CBR Test Machine
- Automatic Load Application: Automate the process of applying incremental loads to the soil sample. This automation ensures consistent and repeatable testing conditions, reducing human error and increasing efficiency.
- Rapid Plate Adjustment: You can easily and quickly change the position of the machine's parts for different tests.
- Data Recording and Analysis: Measuring penetration depths at various load increments and calculating the California Bearing Ratio based on these measurements. Data analysis features can provide insights into the strength and bearing capacity of the soil.
- User-Friendly Interface: Large touchscreen display for viewing real-time graphs and test data, allowing operators to easily set up tests, monitor progress, and access test results with minimal training.
- Portability and Durability: It's a small machine that you can put on a bench, saving space in the lab. Designed to be portable, and suitable for use in field conditions. Portability enables on-site testing for assessing soil conditions in construction.
- Safety Features: There's a button to stop everything in case of an emergency, keeping everyone safe.
- Low Noise and Vibration: Operates quietly with minimal vibrations to avoid disturbance in the lab environment.

Standard
- BS 1377-4 (British Standard 1377-4): Procedures for determining the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of soil when compacted in a standard compaction mold under various conditions.
- EN 13286-47 (European Standard 13286-47): Procedures for determining the California Bearing Ratio (CBR), immediate bearing index, and linear swelling of soils and aggregates.
- ASTM D 1883: Procedures for determining the CBR of laboratory-compacted soils subjected to applied loads under standardized conditions. This test method is widely used for evaluating the load-bearing capacity of soils used in road construction and pavement design.
- AASHTO T 193: Procedures for determining the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) of soils, guiding for assessing the load-bearing capacity of soils for highway and transportation infrastructure projects.
Test Procedure of CBR Test Machine
- Prepare Soil: Get a good soil sample, make sure it's clean, and put it into a mould.
- Set Up the Tester: Make sure the Auto CBR Tester is set up and ready to go. Follow the instructions to get it calibrated.
- Start the Test: Apply a load to the soil sample in stages. The machine will automatically measure how much the soil compresses at each stage.
- Record Data: The machine will keep track of the load applied and how much the soil squishes. This data helps calculate the CBR value.
- Calculate CBR: Use the data to figure out the California Bearing Ratio (CBR). It's a measure of how strong the soil is.
- Check the Results: See if the CBR value meets the project requirements or standards.
- Clean Up and Reset: Clean the Auto CBR Tester and get it ready for the next test.
- Keep Records: Write down all the important info about the test, like what soil you used and the results.
